Temporary ban on poultry imports in Saudi Arabia from the Philippines

The Saudi Food and Drug Administration has temporarily banned the importation of poultry meat, table eggs, products and equipment from the Pampanga region of the Philippines because of the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza, according to the Saudi daily Okaz. 

The interim ban was based on the OIE report, which reported the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5) in Pampanga province,
The Commission exempted from temporary banning poultry meat, table eggs and their products treated thermally or in any other way to eliminate the avian influenza virus, to be in accordance with the requirements and health controls and approved standard specifications, and attach a certificate of health to prove that the product heat coefficient or in any other way to eliminate the Avian influenza virus, and be issued by official authorities in the Philippines, and continues the temporary ban until the health of the livestock there is calm.
