Meteorologist: 7.6 magnitude tremor strucks Iraqi Sulaimaniya province

An earthquake measuring 7.6 degrees on the richter scale hit the Iraqi province of Sulaimaniya on Sunday, and was felt by most of the cities nationwide, government TV reported.
It quoted chief meteorologist Mahmoud Abdullatif as saying the earthquake occurred south of Sulaimaniya in the Iraqi Kurdistan region, Iraq's seismological authorities did not record any human casualties.
