Some people in northern Kuwait felt earthquake that struck an area near Iran-Iraq borders on Sunday, measuring 5.9 degrees on Richter scale, Director of the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research’s (KISR) National Seismological Network said.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Enezi said in a statement people in northern Kuwait felt the tremor at 5:15 p.m. No one was hurt nor material damage was reported.
The earthquake hit Gilangharb city in Iran’s western Kermanshah province, Iran’s Seismological Center said earlier.
Neither casualties nor damage has been reported by local authorities so far, according to the release.
