Ministry of Health is seeking to expand the number of health centers overseas to run a health check on the expatriate workers in their respective countries before they are hired to work in Kuwait, Minister of Health Dr Bassel Al-Sabah informed.

This is in light of the registration of 1,271 cases of infectious diseases among expatriates during re-examination in Kuwait in 2017 and 2018, especially those from Africa and Asia.

At present Kuwait’s embassies and consulates abroad have been urged to use the electronic link system in coordination with the General Secretariat of the Council of Gulf States, as well as re -examination in the country before granting them residence permit, Minister said.

The minister said that among the plans that will be adopted by the ministry is the addition of other checks for those coming to work, and asked the health status of those coming from the
visit of countries that have an electronic link to the program.
