MOI: No Amnesty For illegal Residents, Steps Up Security Campaigns
Kuwait: The Interior Ministry has no plans to give an amnesty in the near future for expatriates living illegally in Kuwait, Major General Talal Marafi, Director General of the Residency Affairs Department at the Ministry of Interior said.
Despite the extended grace period given for residency law violators to amend their status, or leave the country without paying penalties, only few numbers of expats who took the amnesty for granted and left the country, Marafi said.
According to a statistical report by the Ministry’s General department for residency affairs, those who breached the residency law has reached 110,000 expats earlier this month.
Meanwhile, A measures have been taken on the wide scale to track down and arrest the violators of the residence and labor law violators, the official affirmed that such surprise campaigns will continue in all governorates to arrest them and they will be deported and blacklisted.
