Muscat: The authorities in Oman have officially prohibited door-to-door sales and services.

Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) chairman issued an edict banning salespeople from visiting homes and residential units offering goods or providing services, reported Oman Observer.

The first article prohibits salespeople from visiting homes and residential units to offer the sale of goods or services without the request of the consumer.

The second article stipulates a fine ranging from OMR 200 and OMR 1,000 for violators found in breach of the law.
